Children really do see things differently
A study by Jim Stoneat the University of Sheffield, UK, in the journal Perception, DOI: 10.1068/p6725 found that children do not see objects in a fully grown-up way until the age of 13. Children need to learn to distinguish between concave and convex, while adults learned to assume that objects are lit by a light source above it.
